Chicken Pox
|
Yap, I got Chiclen Pox. The first thing that came to my mind was holiday! The second was Neem tree leaves. These leaves have been used for hundred of years by the Indians to minimize the spreading of germs. I got some on my bed, living room and the house enterance. As with all disease there are some self claimed experts out there dishing out free advise. Some suggest eating pork to to reduce the infection time. Even my parents prevented me from washing myself for reason they could not explain! I'm going to stick to Neem tree leaves, coconut water and a good rest. |

Back from Singapore
|
Came back from Singapore at 1.30am on 23/01/05. It was a hectic visit because I have to help my sister move to her new house. On the first day my parents helped out until 12am. The next day I stayed back until 12.00am, as my Dad was not feeling well. On Thaipusam day mom and I had a slight fever. In Singapore the new house pooja is held before sunrise. My macha and me have to fetch the Sami from the temple. He did the pooja without hurrying and everybody was happy. 3 hours before lunch there was confusion as to which restaurant my macha ordered the food. After couple of phone calls to the wrong restaurant we managed to find the right one. The food doesn’t taste good to me!
This visit has taught me a lot about moving in to a new house gracefully. What I’ll do if I moved in to my new house?
a) Just set up the bare essentials like the kitchen and prayer room for the prayers. This will reduce the headache of unpacking.
b) Bring no chairs so that everybody will be tired of standing and leave early.
c) Install some fans to blow the smoke from the pooja.
d) No beers in the house. (Yeah technically you should not drink in this kind of functions but my family members are no angels)

It's 100% true!!!
|
In Singapore right now visiting relatives so I'll will be shooting pictures of people most of the time. My last visit was during the republic's independence day where they have the fireworks festival for 3 weekends.
Today's picture is one of my interpretation of "something old something new" theme for the contest. |

Take off
|
I knew taking this bunch of pigeons won't be easy so I set my camera before pointing it towards the pigeons. Then I moved slowly towards them. I put them in the middle of the LCD and try to focus when they suddenly took off. Determine not miss the shot I started to pan the camera while it tries to focus. As soon as I got the focus I took a shot and got the picture below.

Blackout
|
There was no power supply in my floor around 12.30pm yesterday. out of curiosity I peeked out of my window and saw the traffic lights not working. Some people in the office using laptops managed to IM their friends and found out the whole Klang valley has no power. After 1 hour of lounging around, talking crap and teaching a Malay guy Tamil the fire alarm rang. In my building when the fire alarm is on the elevator isle will be closed down automatically. This is to prevent people using the lifts during a fire but there's a firemen lift hidden into the walls near the staircase! Some of the people in my office took the stairs (42 floors down) but I took the elevator. During the ride down there was a slight anxiety about the possibility of the lift stopping halfway but nothing happened. Back in my company's HQ I saw a TV station car. A press conference for the blackout. About 3 states were affected. Power at my home came at 6.05pm. |

Amrish Puri
|
Veteran Hindi actor Amrish Puri passed away at the age of 72. Tamil movie buffs will remember him from the film 'Talapathi'. He played the villan role. If you want to beat up Amitha Batchan you call Amrish Puri. Tall guy, bald head and Darth Vedar voice. Athma Shanthi. |

Vellaikara Muttham
|
Current favourite song is Vellaikara Muttham from Chellamai. What I liked about it;
1) They didn't put the title 'English Muttam' 2) There's a bass player in my room everytime I play the song 3) Using Indian instruments that sound Indian instead of using Arabic instruments in an Indian song(Vennai & tabala in the middle and at the end of the song). 4) The singer voice (Malathi) sounds fresh and youthful.
Good job Harris Jayram

Silent New Year
|
All New Year's celebration and fireworks display have been canceled by the Malaysian government as a sign of respect to those who perish in the recent earthquake and tsunami. Today's picture is dedicated to them. Today's picture also goes out to the beautiful girl that I accidentally bumped into (literally) in the bus yesterday. I was putting down the box that I was carrying and looking for things that I can grab hold of when the crazy bus driver slam the accelerator. I went backwards and have to lean on a beautiful Indian girl for 1.5 sec. I said 'sorry sorry' and she said 'its alright'.
